Business Analyst - Evidence Lab Web Research

Your role

We are looking for someone like this to help us:

- investigate and troubleshoot support issues where your experience with SQL databases will be heavily relied on
- take ownership of support tickets, seeing them through from start to finish and escalating to other groups as needed
- convert user requests into custom report specifications by understanding/clarifying the nature of the question(s) being answered, the information in the data warehouse, where it originated, and the proper use of available information processing tools
- manage deployment and delivery of datasets and reports
- document all processes, procedures, service lines, and metadata in clear and concise language
- assist and mentor end users on data needs and solutions
- monitor database integrity, investigate inconsistencies, and make recommendations regarding best method to rectify data inconsistencies

Your team

You will be working in the Web Mining Team who are the first point of contact for clients and internal staff, helping to resolve issues within Evidence Lab's Web Mining platform, and answer data product questions. Web data is mined as inputs to help answer investment debates and the successful candidate will be central to this work. The role calls for the design and development of data products to support client requests, including the ability to work in a fast paced and varied environment where timelines are typically tight.

Your experience and skills

You have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 2-3 years’ experience in Information Technology or similar industry
- Knowledge and experience of analytical systems
- Deep level experience with traditional relational database and knowledge of NoSQL database would be an advantage
- Very strong communication skills

You are:
- able to anticipate problems and offer creative solutions to them
- strongly committed to excellence for both internal and external clients, as well as varied onshore and offshore teams that require project assistance
- well-organized in project management experience, with an ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced collaborative environment
- exposed to mining, modeling, analytics and Business Intelligence
